We all want progress. But the key question to ask is whether the progress is a sustainable one. If decades of growth gets undone in one moment, is it progress? If a natural disaster strikes, and there is a great calamity, it is understandable. We can hardly do anything about it. But, if the disaster is a man made one, then that is where the pains start.
Also, progress must be inclusive. It should include all the people. If it includes some but excludes others, then also it is not a good progress. Because, it would lead to divisive feelings in the nation or in the world at large and that is going to result in some tension and war somewhere down the line.
When people talk of progress, we need to ensure that it is sustainable and is an inclusive one.
