The importance of power supply to industries cannot be over estimated. It is critical and it is absolutely imperative that any manufacturing center gets uninterrupted power supply. However, where the requirements are large, one has to ensure the power supply, people use generators.
Generators are broadly of two types. Diesel Generators and Electric generators. The Diesel Generator is typically preferred over electric generator since it has a longer life and lower maintenance. The frequency output should be checked for the generator before using it since the equipments are designed to use a particular frequency of output. For example, though 60 hertz is the designated frequency at which electrical equipments work in US, the same is 50 hertz in European countries and Australia. The speed of the generator has to be tuned properly so that the desired output frequency is obtained.
There are Towable Diesel Generators which are mounted on trailers. These are designed for different applicagtions such as industrial, commercial and rental that require a very quiet operation and reliability levels. The generators generate quite a noise also when they run. Hence, some of the suppliers also provide sound attenuated enclosures so that the noise does not percolate out.
Maintaining the generators properly and keeping them tuned are also important to get a desired output from the on a continous basis.
