Study reveals that today, compared to five years back, the survival chances of premature babies and even those who were born very weak, have greatly improved. A study done in Sweden revealed that about 70% of babies born alive between 22 and 26 weeks gestation in Sweden now survive past the age of one, largely thanks to medical intervention. Over half of these babies that survived experienced serious health problems.
This is largely due to the advancement of medical science and also analytical techniques which help us to hone in and see where exactly should intervention happen.
