US yet to decide on additional troops to Afghanistan

The US decision on sending more troops to Afghanistan has been put on hold. The US government wants to first know who is going to be the new Afghan President, since the election results are yet to be confirmed. The independent UN backed election committee is likely to advise re-election in the country, which is likely to be opposed by the Karzai government.
The US has little time to send more troops to Afghanistan, where the US and NATO Troops are facing major resistance from the terrorist groups.
