The US regulators were kept busy this week also, when a bank in Florida was closed down. The Commerce Bank of Florida was closed down this week due to inadequate capital structure. The mounting loan loss on mortgage loans and also loans to small and medium businesses has lead to the US regulators taking the stern action.
This takes the full year total to 124 as on date. The year 2009 total could go past 135 mark, as there is another six weeks remaining in the year.
