The devastating earthquake which happened on Thursday has left many people disappearance. Though many teams have put efforts to find the survivors the hopes was wanned when the search just started. The officials expressed serious concern as the disaster has caused the missing of about 200 people. The disaster has left many foreigners which include 200 people along with some children missing says the reports related.
The earthquake magnitude which happened was about 6.3 quake which took the lives of 98 people along with 2 infants. The quake stuck the second largest city of New Zealand toppling down many buildings around the city. The rubble may still have scores of bodies buried under as still about 226 people are unaccounted for. The details of the dead and the loss persons in the rubble was being reported by the Superintendent Dave Cliff who is the commander of the Canterbury district.
Dave said the police is having the grave concerns for those people waiting for the news of their beloved ones. The police even requested people to come forward and give information which may help to identify the remains. Till now about 98 bodies have been recovered and still some 226 are missing and expected the final toll to be higher. However the 226 missing didn’t include the overseas nationals whose families are not yet contacted.
