Facebook has been launched in Swahili. The language is being spoken by more than about 110 million speakers in Africa. This was made possible by a group of Swahili scholars who have launched it with the permission of Facebook. Facebook is spreading in the last five years in Africa especially in East and Central Africa. This is where the most of the Swahili speakers live. Next could be the hausa version in west Africa and the Zulu version in Southern Africa. This might also in a way safeguard the lanauge and prevent it from extinction.

Can the owners of the dogs read the looks of the dogs? Research suggests that they cannot.

That “guilty look” on a dog’s face is all in the imagination of the human owner, suggests research.

Dog owners have often claimed they can read the expressions of their pets – particularly that tell-tale look when they have done something wrong.

But researchers at a New York college tricked owners into thinking innocent pets had misbehaved – with the owners still claiming to see this guilty look.

The study found that the expression had no relation to the dogs’ behaviour.

And researchers found that pet owners’ belief that they could read their dogs’ “body language” was often entirely unfounded
