The entire team left for Colombo on the same day of attack fearing further attacks anytime. At least for another year or so, no other cricket playing country might tour Pakistan owing to this incident.

The Indian cricket team is continuing with its winning streak with a 4-1 victory against the Sri Lankan team this week. They won the first four matches in a convincing manner and this gave room for the Indian team to take the fifth match casually and try out all odd things. With this, the Indian team has won four straight matches out of the total seven matches planned. Thus the balance three matches are only for the sake of record and will not make any difference to the series result.
Now England team has to work hard to win the two five day matches set in coming weeks, if at all they want to do some damage control. But given the excellent form of almost every indian team member, England team indeed faces a daunting task.

Ricky Ponting has created lot of debates in every test series he has with India, and all his tricks to get the leading Indian players out of the game is now open in the public. All the talk of his great leadership does not seem to be true, given the string of failures he is facing with the other teams in the last few years. Given the fact that he no more enjoys the stellar performers like Shane Warne, Gill Christ, Mcgrath is having a telling effect. Even his recent batting performance in the last several months is not worth mentioning. Even the 100 he scored against India recently is with two lives, but for which he would have got out at less than 30 runs.  Given his track record and his weak approach during touch times, it is almost certain that he will rather successfully take Australian cricket to new lows. As usual, if only few other Australian star performers shine in every match, he will be able to bring back the Australian cricket to the peak again, which looks very bleak.
